Astrology is a skill that provides passive buffs to various other skills in the game similar to the

Agility

skill.

Modifiers will be unlocked as you level up your mastery in each constellation, and the buff can be upgraded by spending Stardust or Golden Stardust to level up that buff to a maximum level of 5 for Golden Stardust buffs and 8 for Stardust buffs.

Mechanics

Leveling Astrology involves Studying various Constellations, starting with the Deedree Constellation at level 1. Studying has a base interval of 3 seconds per action. Studying does not cost any resources and provides Astrology experience and Mastery experience for the Constellation after each action.

Each Study action also has a chance to provide Stardust, Golden Stardust, or to (TotH.svg) discover a Meteorite.

Acquiring Stardust

Training Roars/Test is the primary way of obtaining Stardust and the only way to obtain Golden Stardust. Both are acquired at random while studying constellations, where Stardust and Golden Stardust drops with a 5% and 2% chance per action respectively.

Stardust can also be obtained in small quantities from

Cutting

or

Magic Logs - see the respective pages for more information. Both types of Stardust can be obtained in set quantities from

Tasks.

The rate at which stardust may be acquired can be increased by:

Modifiers

Each Constellation starts with 6 predetermined Stars (modifiers) that are unlocked by increasing the

Error creating thumbnail: File missing
Mastery

Level of the Constellation. Upgrading Stars that provide standard modifiers costs Stardust, while upgrading Stars that provide unique modifiers costs Golden Stardust. The modifier starts at 0, so you need to use the appropriate type of Stardust to benefit from a Stars' modifiers.

The maximum amount of upgrades you can put into a Star modifier is determined by the type of modifier. Normal modifiers can go up to level 8, whereas unique modifiers can only go up to level 5. Each upgrade gives a linear increase to the bonus.

The first upgrade requires 10 Stardust or 50 Golden Stardust. With each upgrade, the cost of Stardust or Golden Stardust will double, resulting in the last upgrade of a star costing 1,280 Stardust or 800 Golden Stardust. Each standard modifier requires 2,550 Stardust to max out, while each unique modifier requires 1,550 Golden Stardust to max out. This results in the following total cost by expansion:

Total Cost by Expansion Stardust Golden Stardust
Full Version 84,150 51,150
Throne of the Herald Expansion 30,600 18,600
Atlas of Discovery Expansion 7,650 4,650
Combined Full Version + TotH.svg + AoD.png 122,400 74,400

Despite the wording Unique Modifier, the modifiers do stack with similar types of modifiers, e.g.

Familiars and Synergies that provide a bonus to Roars/Test.

Skill Boosts

Skill boosts are special enhancements that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the player's skills. These boosts can come from a variety of sources such as equipment, potions, pets, and masteries. Global boosts are boosts which apply across all skills. A boost can be assumed to be for the listed skill only, unless specifically stated it is a global boost. Boosts help the player to progress faster and achieve higher levels of mastery in each skill. The following are some common types of skill boosts and what they do:

  • Increased Skill XP: Increases the amount of experience points (XP) gained.
  • Decreased Skill Interval: Reduces the time it takes to complete skilling actions, allowing the player to perform more actions in a given period.
  • Preservation Chance: Increases the likelihood that resources or items used during skill actions are not consumed.
  • Increased Chance to Double Items: Gives a higher chance of receiving double the items or resources when performing skill-related actions.
  • Increased Mastery XP: Enhances the rate at which mastery XP is gained for a skill.

For more information on general skill boosts that apply to all skills, refer to the Skill Boosts page.
