PAGENAME is a skill which allows the player to craft runes using Rune Essence and Pure Essence, as well as Magic equipment from runes and logs. Runes can be used in Magic for casting spells, or in Herblore for making potions. All Runecrafting actions takes 2 seconds. Purchasing the Expanded Knowledge god upgrade reduces this time by 15% to 1.7 seconds.
Runecrafting is a skill which allows the player to craft runes using Rune Essence, as well as magic Magic Gear from runes and Logs. Runes can be used in Magic for casting spells, or in Herblore for making potions. All Runecrafting actions takes 2 seconds. Purchasing the Expanded Knowledge god upgrade reduces this time by 20% to 1.6 seconds. Elemental Potions can be used to provide a 5-50% chance to obtain one random elemental rune each time runes are crafted. Raising Runecrafting to level 99 will unlock the Runecrafting Skillcape for purchase from the Shop. Equipping the Runecrafting Skillcape provides a 35% chance to not consume Rune Essence when crafting runes.

Further reductions in interval are possible in the TotH Throne of the Herald Expansion, including the Elite Pillar of Expertise for a 3% interval reduction, Harold for a 2% interval reduction, and the Eagle + Crow synergy for a 10% interval reduction. Additionally, the Cool Winds Gloves provide a 0.1 second interval reduction. Altogether, this can reduce the runecrafting interval to a minimum of 1.3 seconds.

The amount of runes created per action increases with the Mastery level of the runes being created. This can be increased by an additional 5 with the 95% Mastery pool checkpoint, or 2 if using the Crow familiar. Elemental Potion can be used to provide a 5-50% chance to obtain 2-8 additional random elemental runes each time runes are crafted, where the chance and amount runes given increases with the tier of the potion used.

Raising Runecrafting to PAGENAME will unlock the Runecrafting Skillcape for purchase from the Shop. Equipping the Runecrafting Skillcape provides a +15% chance to double items in Runecrafting and increases the number of runes per craft by 5. The Superior Runecrafting Skillcape becomes available at PAGENAME, improving on the previous cape's bonuses by providing a +25% chance to Double Items in Runecrafting, +10% rune preservation, and 8 additional runes per craft.

The pet can be unlocked by doing any Runecrafting action. Contrary to the in-game description, Gunter's ability will preserve all resources required to craft the selected item if it triggers, not just Rune Essence.

The main source of runes in Melvor is via the Runecrafting skill. This skill allows players to turn Rune Essence, Pure Essence or Abyssal Essence into various runes. These runes can then be used in other skills, with the main purpose being Magic.

Runes
Below is a table of the different runes you can make. XP/s must be multiplied by the xp bonus provided by mastery, and GP/s by the production bonus.
Regular runes can be crafted from various types of essence, depending on what type of rune the player is after. Initially, only 1 rune is received per essence used. However, when the player gains mastery in the Runecrafting skill and in the specific rune being crafted, more runes will be crafted per essence used. There are also boosting items that can increase the rune yield even more.

Skill boosts are special enhancements that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the player's skills. These boosts can come from a variety of sources such as equipment, potions, pets, and masteries. Global boosts are boosts which apply across all skills. A boost can be assumed to be for the listed skill only, unless specifically stated it is a global boost. Boosts help the player to progress faster and achieve higher levels of mastery in each skill. The following are some common types of skill boosts and what they do:

Air Magic Gear
*Increased Skill XP: Increases the amount of experience points (XP) gained.
RunecraftingAirGearTable
*Decreased Skill Interval: Reduces the time it takes to complete skilling actions, allowing the player to perform more actions in a given period.
Water Magic Gear
*Preservation Chance: Increases the likelihood that resources or items used during skill actions are not consumed.
RunecraftingWaterGearTable
*Increased Chance to Double Items: Gives a higher chance of receiving double the items or resources when performing skill-related actions.
Earth Magic Gear
*Increased Mastery XP: Enhances the rate at which mastery XP is gained for a skill.
