Skill Points are gained for each Abyssal Level Up. There are 59 Skill Points available total. The full Skill Tree requires exactly 59 Skill Points to fully max out.
It is currently not possible (or needed) to unassign Skill Points, if the player feels the points have been spent on the wrong Skill Tree Unlock, more can be obtained by leveling the Skill further. There are sufficient points to complete the entire Skill Tree.
Each Skill has its own Skill Tree with its own Modifiers. These can be viewed In-Game
