In order to acquire the 100 Ancient Claw Fragments necessary to craft an Ancient Claw, an average of 3,333 Pegasi must be killed, provided the player has no bonuses to their drop chance.
If the player has a chance to receive double loot from monsters due to 
Chapeau Noir, 
Aorpheat's Signet Ring, 
Slayer Gear (Master), or the

Golden Golbinpet, the average number of kills required to collect enough fragments will decrease. Note that due to the

High Lands requiring a 
Magical Ring to access, the Signet Ring can only be worn while fighting Pegasus if either:
- The player is wearing the
Slayer Skillcape, requiring Error creating thumbnail: File missingLevel 99, instead - The ring is equipped into the passive equipment slot, which becomes available after completing Error creating thumbnail: File missingInto the Mist
With the highest possible double loot chance of 22%, the expected number of kills to receive 100 Ancient Claw Fragments can be reduced to 2,732. This can be achieved by:
- Equipping either the Slayer Skillcape,
Max Skillcape, or 
Cape of Completion, to bypass the Magical Ring requirement - Equipping Chapeau Noir into the passive equipment slot (requires completion of Error creating thumbnail: File missingInto the Mist)
- Equipping Aorpheat's Signet Ring as well as any two pieces of Slayer Gear (Master)
