This will allow you to survive much higher hits from Monsters without dying (you will still be capped on how high the hits you can take are before dying based on the Monsters maximum hit and your maximum health).

Eating this way is a much more intensive way of playing the game and is generally not recommended for longer grinds.
Ancient Relics will rely on this way of Eating to clear through most dungeons for the first time.

Manually Eating WILL reset your Attack Gauge, having to start your next attack over again. It will also cancel any Special Attacks you might be performing.

There are 2 ways to Manual Eat:

  1. Reactive Eating
  2. Spam Eating

Reactive Eating

This is done by Eating at the most efficient time in both your & the opponents attack cycle. This will only work if your Attack Interval is lower than the opponents. The most efficient way to do it is:

  1. Wait for the opponent to hit you.
  2. Wait for you to hit the opponent (only if this happens before the opponent hits you again).
  3. Eat after your attack gauge fills up and you hit (or miss).
  4. Start process from step 1 again.

Spam Eating

There's also 2 ways to Spam Eat. Eating this way will interupt your attacks and will generally not work unless your Attack Interval is much lower than the opponents.

  1. Clicking (on PC) or tapping (on Mobile) the Eat button rapidly over and over again.
  2. Holding Spacebar or Enter on a PC, this is set up in the following way:
    1. Double click the word "Food" on the combat screen (no visual indicators will appear at this step)
    2. Press Tab once
    3. Hold down either Spacebar or Enter to repeatedly Eat. This Eats much faster than can be achieved in other ways
