Melee combat guide prep
Introduction
Most players start combat with
as it does not require the overhead of
Ammunition for

- Melee Armour can be upgraded (
) twice from the Bank by using the Upgrade button, once with
Silver Bars and the second time with
Gold Bars.
- The first Upgrade provides some boosts to the Strength and Melee Defence bonuses on the Item.
- The second Upgrade provides Damage Reduction as well as some further increases to the Strength and Melee Defence bonuses on the Item. (There is no Damage Reduction for
Bronze Equipment or
Iron Equipment).
- Damage Reduction is very important. It allows you to take less damage per hit taken. Allowing you to fight stronger enemies and use less food in the process.
- Typically, upgrading armor isn't really worth the extra time spent until at least
Mithril Armour.
Obtaining Melee Gear has 2 options:
