Stats

Ancient Magic Hammer does not provide any stat bonuses in combat.

Effect

Each hammer used saves 0.2 seconds. Excluding the extra experience or mastery experience, we can calculate if gathering Ancient Magic Hammers saves time, or loses time. Creation and refinement of the map is not included in the calculation. The following function shows how much time is lost or gained on average when excavating one single hammer:

[math]\displaystyle{ \text{Time Saved} = \text{Hammer Amount} \times \text{Map Refinement (1 or 2)} \times \text{Duplication Chance} \times \text{Item Rarity} \times \text{Interval Reduction} }[/math]

We get the following formula when filling out the possible numbers where X is duplication chance:

[math]\displaystyle{ \text{Time Saved} = 500 \times \text{Map Refinement (1 or 2)} \times \left(1 + \frac{x}{100}\right) \times 0.0089 \times 0.2 }[/math]

We get the following two graphed functions. Both with and without x2 consumable map refinement.

This graph shows the relation between the average time taken for 1 hammer, and the player's duplication chance. If the figure on the Y axis for a given duplication chance is larger than the player's current Archaeology interval, time is lost when gathering hammers. As indicated by the graph, the x2 consumable items map refinement needs to be purchased in order for a time save to even occur.
