((Skill|Firemaking}} produces several byproducts while burning wood:
* {{ItemIcon|Ash}}: The most common byproduct of Firemaking is Ash, which can be buried for {{Skill|Prayer}} Points. Ash is a great way to kickstart Prayer training without going out of the way for it.
* {{ItemIcon|Coal Ore}}: Coal is another common byproduct, but doesn't come in enough quantity to be of too much use.
* {{ItemIcon|Generous Fire Spirit}}: These little friends can be cracked open to grant the player one of the following:
** {{ItemIcon|Burning Amulet of Gold}}: This effectively grants the 50% {{Icon|Mastery}}[[Firemaking#Mastery_Pool_Checkpoints|Mastery Pool Checkpoint]] early, unfortunately, {{GP}} earned from Firemaking is very low, even doubling it doesn't make it worthwhile.
** {{ItemIcon|Burning Amulet of Stardust}}: a low chance for {{ItemIcon|Stardust}} while Burning a specific log isn't super helpful, compounded with the fact that Stardust is rarely the limiting factor in {{Skill|Astrology}} progression.
** {{ItemIcon|Burning Amulet of Ash}}: This amulet has more going for it, getting 50% more Ash can be rather useful, but the lower XP is a big hindrance
** {{ItemIcon|Burning Amulet of XP}}: The most impactful, this amulet actually speeds up Firemaking, which is what we're looking for.
