Introduction
Most players start combat with Attack as it does not require the overhead of Fletching Ammunition for Ranged or Runecrafting Runes for Magic.
For Gear there are 2 options.
* Smithing has all Gear Sets up to Level 60 Combat Levels. This also requires Mining to be leveled.
** Requires up to Smithing Level 99 and Mining Level 95.
** This includes the Dragon Helmet Tier which is not easily obtainable from Combat but can be skipped.
* From Combat.
** Requires up to Smithing Level 40 and Mining Level 40.
*** Silver Bar and Gold Bar can also be obtained from Combat from Statue but this is discouraged as the drop rate is rather low.
** Castle of Kings has Steel Knight, Mithril Knight, Adamant Knight and Rune Knight which all drop their respective Armour sets and Weapons.
*** The Black Knight is generally skipped due to the low drop rate on it's items as well as the Armour Tier being easily skipped.
** It is generally advised to fight these Knights with Magic due to Combat Triangle benefits.
Smithing armor can be upgraded () twice from the Bank, once with Silver Bar and the second time with Gold Bar. Typically, upgrading armor isn't really worth the extra time spent until at least Mithril Helmet. <br>
Melee Armour before the God Armour does not get any Damage Reduction until it's upgraded to (G). It is highly advised to upgrade this Armour.
Melee leveling is split across 3 different skills, Attack, Strength, and Defence.
* Attack is trained using the Attack Attack Style
* Strength is trained using the Strength Attack Style
* Defence is trained using the Defence Attack Style
In general, all Melee weapons have Stat distributions that encourage the use of the following Attack Styles:

Important Notes on This Guide, Please Read
* Levels for Slayer and Prayer are assumed to be equal to the Magic Level unless mentioned otherwise.
* This Guide does not include any Potions, Pets. Agility or Astrology unless specifically mentioned in the section.
* Each section is to the next Gear Set and/or Spell, sections can be skipped. In this case ETA until the next section will need to be re-calculated.
** The Experience Table can be used to reference how much XP is needed.
* Items with (Optional) next to them are recommended, but not required for survival. If not owned these items can be skipped, they will however impact the XP /h gained.
** Items with the (Optional) tag next to them are still recommended to be obtained.
* Gems and Points of Interest are recommended if AoD is owned, they are not required.
* Rough estimates for Food consumed /h are listed in Lemonade which heals for 1 Hitpoints. Simply divide the Food Consumed /h numbers by how much the used Food heals for.
* Each section assumes at least Auto Eat - Tier I has been unlocked.
* Up to Level 60 in all 3 Attack Styles Any Dagger used in the Leveling sections can be replaced by a Scimitar for roughly the same XP /h in Strength. Defence is recommended to be leveled with Magic on Defensive but can also be leveled with a Dagger for slightly lower XP /h rates than listed below.
