This article is about training the Abyssal Realm Summoning skill. For the skill itself, see Summoning.

It is useful to try to start Abyssal Summoning training as early as you can. The main Abyssal Skills that benefit Summoning training are Thieving and Fishing for Global Abyssal XP boost items, and Agility for obstacles that boost Summoning. After those are obtained, it's good to train Summoning early, as 1) Summoning tablets often benefit training other Skills, 2) the majority of Summoning training is done when training other skills, and 3) higher Summoning levels are required to discover Marks, which are required for crafting different types of tablets.

With all interval reduction buffs obtained before starting this expansion and some buffs from Abyssal Agility, each Summoning action should take around 0.9 second instead of the base 5 seconds, drastically improving XP rates. With an Agility setup that includes all Summoning buffs and maximizes resource preservation and item doubling chance, you can create a base quantity of 50 tablets per action, with the maximum 80% resource preservation and 52% item doubling chance.

Making tablets is a decent way of leveling up. Make the highest level ones you can that have easy-to-farm secondaries, and make sure to discover marks for newly unlocked familiars. This is a fairly fast way of training at early levels, especially when you don't have enough useful familiars unlocked. Stacking interval reduction buffs is very helpful for this.

Alternatively, you can use tablets during skilling and combat. XP per tablet used scales quadratically with tablet level, and unlike regular Summoning, doesn't scale with action time. To maximize XP, you should train a skill with a low action time, using two high-level familiars (the second one should be used by the synergy).

For example, at level 40, you can use the Abyssal Salamander and Abyssal Pig during Smithing training. The synergy provides -0.4s interval reduction, which can bring the Smithing action time to around 0.5s if enough interval reduction buffs are stacked. It's possible to obtain 100M Abyssal Summoning XP/hr with this method.
